ELSA GREEN

Born in the parish of Westmoreland on 1st January 1972, Elsa Green is a female vocalist who has worked behind the scenes in the music industry for the past seventeen years. She began singing at the tender age of 8 years old as lead singer on the adult choir at her church in Savanna-La-Mar. At the age of 15 years old she joined a female group called Equalizer popularly known as EQ, where she did a number of performances, and recordings on Sly & Robbie’s Taxi Label. During her off days she performed as a cabaret singer in the various hotels on the North Coast and worked with a number of bands performing across the island. In 1995 she met Mikey Spice, one of her mentors, where her international career as a harmony singer began. Elsa worked with other entertainers such as Lorna Bennett, Iley Dread, Charlie Chaplain, Karen Smith, ET Webster, Gregory Isaacs Bushman and Buju Banton. In 2001 she sang background vocals for Gregory Isaac and was featured in a cover version of “If You Should Lose Me” on his album “Private and Confidential” which was nominated for the Grammy Awards. Elsa‘s multi- talent allows her to write her own songs and create melodies that most people can relate to. She has now embarked on her solo career, with her first original single. “Heavenly Man” released on Ajang Music Production label. You can surely look forward to this bright and fresh solo sound that she possesses.
